Because every adoption should last a lifetime.
Bringing a pet home is a big decision, and we believe it’s one worth taking the time to get right.
Our goal isn’t simply to help every animal get adopted. It’s to help every animal find the right home.
When you visit the shelter, we’ll chat about your lifestyle, experience, and what you’re looking for in a companion. Sometimes you’ll meet your perfect match right away. Other times, we’ll suggest another animal who may be a better fit. And occasionally, we’ll have an honest conversation if we don’t think the timing is right.
The best adoptions aren’t rushed. They’re built to last.

Our rescues
Where they come from
We care for cats and dogs of all ages and backgrounds.
Many of our adoptables come from:
- Unclaimed animals who have run out of time at City-funded shelters
- Free roaming animals left unclaimed
- Animal control services and other passionate community partners across Manitoba
- Veterinary clinics and kennels that receive abandoned cats and dogs
We are proud to be a for life shelter committed to every healthy and treatable animal in our care. We rarely accept surrenders. Our focus is on giving second chances to animals with nowhere else to go.
Our adoption process
1. Look for That Friendly Face
View adoptables at our shelter or online and see who connects with you.
2. The First Meeting
Spend time together at the shelter. Cats relax in cozy rooms. Dogs meet families in our private room or our backyard.
We’ll walk you through personality, history, and needs. Have a dog at home? Bring them for a meet-and-greet. Sleepovers for dogs are encouraged.
3. The
Paperwork
We’ll review medical history, future appointments, and policies. All household members must be present. Make sure you have copies of rental agreements and photo ID so there are no hold ups.
4. Time to Go Home
We’ll walk you through feeding schedules, care routines, and next steps.
Grab essentials from our Pet Supplies shop if needed (all purchases support our mission).
Welcome to life with your new best friend. Don’t forget to send us updates and photos.
