About A.R.C. Volunteers

D'Arcy's A.R.C. has approximately 100 volunteers who provide valuable care to the animals in our shelter. The A.R.C. has a very small team of staff and couldn't possibly rescue the number of homeless, abused and abandoned animals that we do without the help of our volunteers!
Our volunteers are hands on people who enjoy handling animals and providing the care they need for future success. They don't mind getting their hands dirty and pitching in as needed putting the care and the comfort of animals before other concerns.
There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a cat or dog restored to health and confidence, and then adopted to a good home! Our volunteers also accept the fact that once in a while, outcomes are sad. Sometimes, an animal will succumb to illness or injury. These occasions are rare, but they are a fact of life in an animal rescue organization.
As our volunteers gain experience, they are given increased responsibilities and the opportunity to learn new animal care skills. When we have a staff position available at the A.R.C., we like to fill the position from within the ranks of our volunteers.
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and able to work independently. Volunteers must enjoy working directly with animals and respect their right to the best possible care.

The Volunteer Commitment

Volunteers are required to commit to at least one year of service, working at least 3 hours per week. Volunteers are expected to be responsible, courteous and respectful of A.R.C. policies.

1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Saturday shifts available

8:00 AM - 11:00 PM
2:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Sunday shifts available

9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
